I take notes as I play the game for things that I think deserve a mention. If something was not mentioned, it is considered "fine" and not noteworthy in any sense.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Pros

  • Merrin
Love that she got a bigger role in this game as she was one of the highlights of the first game. And she's THE star of this game.

  • Coruscant / 2046
I loved that early on you got this more rough neon area which I wished we got since SW1313/Mandalorian game, so that was nice.

  • Double jump
This game has double jump basically out of the box so that's great.

  • Vader
    It was cool to see.

  • Cere
In the first game, I was a bit meh on her as it never felt she was an importance to the party, but in this game she was so much better.

  • Boba Fett
Nice ending to the bounty hunt sidequest.

Neutral

  • Stances
I like the idea of stances, but it would had been better if you where able to switch between all of them inside battle, such as a weapon wheel. I think that would also encourage more dynamic fights. I primarly went with Dual-wield and Dual-blade. The Dual-wield seemed pretty OP in the game once you got the L1-Square attack.

  • Easier
This game felt quite a lot easier than the first one. I think partly is due to you're not reset from the first game like many other games tend to do so you don't start out as a complete weakling even tho you don't have skills in your skill-tree yet. Same with checkpoints, it was easier just to die than going back to respawn.

  • Puzzle platformer
Gameplay was overall much better and this game became a lot more puzzle platformer than the first one. Sometimes it was a little too much but at same time, it's fun challenges while traversing the world. But other times like "Fractured Determination" is just terrible stage because it's a binary trial and error jump puzzle which always is boring and tedious. You want to be creative and dynamic to accomplish something your own way.

Cons

  • Map
Like in the previous game. The map is still a bit messy to navigate at times. The fast travel map doesn’t show the objectives and is as bit different, so often I would switch between the actual map to know where I ned to fast travel. Kinda annoying.

  • Jump scales
This ganme has some jump scares at times. I've never cared for them and don't think they add anything of importance to the experience.

  • Ship teleportation
Would had been nice if there was a feature to teleport back to the ship.

Final score: 8.5/10
